The 2012-2013 National Annual Report on HIV program presents the progress in implementing the strategies and activities articulated in the National Strategic Plan on HIV and AIDS 2009-2012 (ending in June 2013), commonly referred to as the HIV NSP.

This policy document provides an overall framework for health promotion development and practices in Rwanda. The National Health Promotion Policy (NHPP) promotes disease prevention, empowers communities to translate health information into desired action, and encourages community participation and ownership of health promotion related activities. The Health Promotion Policy was developed taking into consideration the HSSP III, Vision 2020, EDPRS II and the WHO recommendations to member countries on the need for formal policies on health promotion.

Strategic Document Rwanda Health Promotion Strategy 2013-18

The Rwandan government is committed to improving the health status of Rwandans. The Ministry of Health (MOH) is well aware that health promotion is a key and strategic initiative to health development. Evidence clearly shows that health promotion, when incorporated into the achievement of public health goals, makes a positive contribution to the improvement of human health.
