Rwanda Public Health Bulletin Issue #3

Year of Publication: 2019

The Rwanda Public Health Bulletin is a publication of Ministry of Health in Rwanda. This publication was created as a way to share timely and useful medical research findings for health professionals, researchers, and policy makers.

The Bulletin was officially inaugurated by Honarable Minister of Health Dr Diane Gashumba at Kigali Serena Hotel in March 2019.

Issue #3 highlights on the ICASA 2019 Rwanda and insights on how Rwanda Achieved the 90-90-90 UNAIDS targets.

Annual Report on HIV 2012-2013

The 2012-2013 National Annual Report on HIV program presents the progress in implementing the strategies and activities articulated in the National Strategic Plan on HIV and AIDS 2009-2012 (ending in June 2013), commonly referred to as the HIV NSP.

United Nations General Assembly Special Session on HIV and AIDS

Year of Publication: 2019

This report includes resolutions undertaken in the United Nations General Assembly Special Session on HIV and AIDS. The Assembly took place in Kigali in January 2008 – December 2009.

The report provides brief information and statistics on the standing of HIV prevelance in Rwanda until 2009.

Gikuriro Program -The Integrated Nutrition and WASH Activity: Baseline Survey Report

Year of Publication: 2017

This survey was conducted in northern part of Rwanda. It was carried out as a result of the Gikuriro Progam needing statistics on which to base a WASH and nutrition project.

Violence Against Children and Youth Survey: Findings from a National Survey, 2015-2016

Year of Publication: 2016

This survey was conducted by The Ministry of Health in Partnership with UNICEF-Rwanda. It provides information on the rate of violence committed against children and youth in Rwanda. It will serve as a tool for concerned institutions to take action against any form of violence against youth and children.

Rwanda: Medical Eligibility Criteria Wheel for Contraceptive Use

Year of Publication: 2016

This wheel contains the medical eligibility criteria for starting use of contraceptive methods, based on Medical Eligibility Criteria for Contraceptive Use, 5th edition (2015), one of WHO’s evidence-based guidelines.

It guides family planning providers in recommending safe and effective contraception methods for women with medical conditions or medically-relevant characteristics. The wheel includes recommendations on initiating use of nine common types of contraceptive methods.
