HCP Educational Schizophrenia Video Booklet: An Introduction to Schizophrenia

This booklet and video script accompany a series of four videos featuring a senior Rwandan psychiatrist. The videos were created to support healthcare professionals (HCPs) to ensure that they can confidently support patients with schizophrenia to achieve the best outcomes.

This video serves as the introduction to the series.

Each of the four video modules is described below.

Module 1: Treating Schizophrenia: A summation of clinical practice guidelines around diagnosis, initial evaluation, and treatment

Module 2: FGAs and SGAs: What You Need to Know: Serves as a refresher on Second Generation Anti-psychotics (SGAs), compares FGAs to SGAs, emphasizes the benefits of different choices available

Module 3: Collaborating With Patients: A tutorial on communicating, active listening, and goal setting with patients to optimize treatment

Module 4: Preparing for a Better Future: A guide to help HCPs improve long-term outcomes that focuses on relapse prevention and adherence to treatment

Distribution will be to psychiatrists and psychiatric nurses in the (12) national and provincial hospitals in the first phase and more broadly in the longer-term.

Poster to Beat COVID-19

Year of Publication: 2020

The poster was conceived and disseminated by the Ministry of Health in Rwanda. It intends to reinforce official existing efforts aiming at halting the spread of COVID-19 within Rwanda.

The key messages focus on reminding the public remain strict on prevention measures such as:

– Wear properl the mask in the public, all the time

– Wash your hands often

-Practice physical distancing

-Comply with the official carfew hours

– Avoid unnecessary mass gatherings

The Rwanda Public Health Bulletin is a publication of Ministry of Health in Rwanda. This publication was created as a way to share medical research findings which would timely and useful for health professionals, researchers, and policy makers.

The Bulletin was officially inaugurated by Honarable Minister of Health Dr Diane Gashumba at Kigali Serena Hotel in March 2019.

Stop Ebola: Signs and Symptoms of Ebola Virus Disease

This poster is printed and disseminated by the Ministry of Health in Rwanda. It was conceived and produced when there was an Ebola outbreak in Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

Public Notice on Ebola July 2019

This is a public notice issued by the Government of Rwanda through its Ministry of Health (MoH) about the Ebola epidemic.

The Ministry published this notice in order to inform Rwandan citizens that the EVD case which was reported in the neighbouring town of Goma, DRC, should not be of concern. It states that the Government of Rwanda, in collaboration with the health authorities in DRC, have established preventive measures to halt the spread of the virus in Rwanda. It also states that no case of Ebola has ever occurred in Rwanda.

The MoH urges citizens to intensify preventive measures including cleanliness and screening after visiting areas affected by the disease.
